What are Matinees?: Matinees are listening sessions of existing repertoire of music and audiovisual works, including recent works created by the guest speakers. Presentations frequently lead to an informal discussion and feedback in areas of contextualisation of these works. The matinees create a broader awareness of aesthetics among composers and to improve and extend listening time per week. As well as new music technologies in the creative process, we have presentations in areas of Screen Studies, Ethnographic Film, Sound Art and Sound Theater.

When?: Thursdays @12:00 noon (as indicated in the timetable) or sometimes Mondays (14:00-15:00 as workshops)
Where?: Studio ONE or Studio Cluster at the NOVARS Research Centre

NOVARS matinees video channel at VIMEO: from 2009 it is possible to access online excerpts of NOVARS matinees, either filmed or broadcasted live. For more, click here
