Bio: Ricardo Climent's research focuses on areas of music composition and interactive media, involving the use computers, audio and visual metadata. He is Co-Director of the NOVARS Research Centre and Senior Lecturer in EA Music at The University of Manchester. He previously held a lecturing position at SARC, (Sonic Arts Research Centre, Belfast). Ricardo has also served as resident composer and researcher at the JOGV Orchestra in Spain; Conservatorio of Morelia in Mexico; Sonology - Kunitachi College of Music, Tokyo; LEA labs, at the Conservatorio of Valencia; the Cushendall Tower- In you we trust; Northern Ireland, at CARA- Celebrating Arts in rural Areas, cross-border Ireland; TUB Berlin; N.K. Berlin; and at the Push Festival, Sweden.
Among his most original long-term collaborative projects he co-created and co-run:
- The Microbial Ensemble: repertoire for a bunch of microbes and electronics, with Quan Gan
- The Carxofa Electric Band: a children's workshop using vegetables and Electronics with iain McCurdy
- The Tornado-Project: a cross-atlantic trio project and tour for flute, clarinet and computer for American wind virtuosi Esther Lamneck (clarinet) and Elizabeth McNutt (flute) with 6 other composers
- Drosophila: a dance-theatre tour of a blind fly with KLEM and Idoia Zabaleta
- Ho- a sonic expedition to Vietnam: a 3D interactive interface project for museums and planetariums
- S.LOW: a cross-disciplinary project in Berlin involving 34 international artists, and Manchester's project. With two dynamic documentary films S.LOW- VIP lounges are for all (2012) and S.LOW: Thieves operate in the Area (2012)
- City as Museum/ City as Instrument: a project sponsored by Cities@manchester: Sonic Metaontology (2011) and Immersive Audiogame Showcase (2012)

Enterpreneur Work:
In 2006 he started 'Wunderbarlaboratorium', a freelance Sound and Media studio in Prenzlauerberg, Berlin, where he collaborates with other artists, musicians (McCurdy, s.low projekt etc) and local organisations.
In 2009 he founded Cross-disciplinary Frog Ltd. a limited by guarantee company based in Manchester, UK, registered in England by the Companies House in early 2010. Cross-D Frog. ltd has partnered with blackduck arts and greendog arts, to create projects like S.LOW, Transfer Lounge, Universal shipping box or Swap/ Vaihto. Cross-D Frog ltd. capitalises on two decades of experience and efforts from a number of entrepreneurs working in the fields of creative sound, visual arts, science and digital technology.

Ricardo's music explores a wide range of possibilities, from instrumental music to experimental collaborations with artists or scientists and with emphasis on acousmatic music and mix genres.
